APHC010643342025 IN THE HIGH COURT OF ANDHRA PRADESH AT AMARAVATI CONTEMPT CASE NO: 3749 of 2025 Bench Sr.No:-8 [3506] Gudikandula Jagadish and Others ...Petitioner(s) Vs. Shri Shashi Bhushan Kumar IAS and Others ...Contemnor(s) ********** Advocate for Petitioner: M SRIKANTH Advocate(s) for Contemnor(s): G RAJU, CORAM : SRI JUSTICE CHALLA GUNARANJAN DATE : 10th July 2026 ORDER: Present contempt has been filed alleging violation of interim order dated 23.06.2025 passed in W.P. No.14786 of 2025, by which there has been direction to the respondents to pay monthly salaries to petitioners pending further orders. 2. On earlier occasion, on instructions, it has been stated that some of the petitioners have been paid the salaries in compliance with the aforesaid directions. Further time was sought, enabling them to pay the salaries to even the remaining petitioners. The respondents have later placed on record written instructions dated 02.07.2026 enclosing the details of payments made towards salaries to the 16 petitioners. As could be seen from the 2 CGR, J C.C. No.3749 of 2025 said instructions, petitioners were shown to have been paid salaries at the rate as mentioned therein, which varies from petitioner to petitioner. However, learned counsel for petitioner, by filing additional affidavit, tried to dispute that the amounts shown in the instructions do not reflect the time scales which petitioners have already been ordered to be paid. 3. Sri R.S.Manidhar Pingali, learned counsel, representing Sri G.Raju, learned counsel appearing for respondents, contended that the issue as to whether petitioners are entitled for minimum timescale is subject matter in W.A. No.626 of 2023, therefore, petitioners have been paid the salaries as per their entitlement otherwise. 4. Writ Court had passed interim direction merely to pay monetary benefits to the petitioners, the quantum of salary was not specified therein and even the same was not subject matter, therefore, this Court is of the view that it is open to petitioners to agitate the issue relating to the quantum of salary that petitioners are entitled to either in the main writ petition or in other proceedings stated to be pending. 3 CGR, J C.C. No.3749 of 2025 5. With the above observations, the present contempt case stands closed. No costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending in this case, if any, shall stand closed. CHALLA GUNARANJAN, J ss
