JUSTICE ARUN DEV CHOUDHURY ORDER 05.09.2025 1. Heard Mr. C. Boruah, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. R. K. D. Choudhury, learned Dy.SGI assisted by Mr. R. Devi, learned CGC representing the Union of India. 2. The grievance of the petitioner for non receipt of dependent family Swatantrata Sainik Sanman Pension (SSS Pension) (Central) being unemployed Page No.# 3/4 and unmarried daughter of Late Labo Kanta Bailung, who was a freedom fighter and was receiving SSS Pension (Central) and SSS Pension (State). 3. Mr. R. K. D. Choudhury, learned Dy. SGI, submits that the Union of India, in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Freedom Fighters’ Division, under the signature of Under Secretary to the Government of India has already sanctioned the pension in favour of the petitioner and accordingly, communicated the same to the Sr. Accounts Officer, Pay and Accounts Office (Pension & Misc)., Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi and therefore, the grievance of the petitioner has already been redressed. 4. Mr. C. Boruah, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though such communication is received by the petitioner, however required PPO has not yet been issued. 5. Mr. R. K. D. Choudhury, learned Dy. SGI, referring to the paragraph Nos. 7 and 8 of the communication referred hereinabove, submits that the a direction has already been issued to the Sr. Accounts Officer, Pay and Accounts Office (Pension & Misc)., Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi to issue a fresh PPO in the name of the petitioner for disbursement of Dependent SSS pension and required documents have also been forwarded to the Sr. Accounts Officer, Pay and Accounts Office (Pension & Misc)., Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi by the Under Secretary to the Government of India. Therefore, according to Mr. Choudhury, learned Dy.SGI , such exercise may require some time but it may be completed within a period of one month from today. 6. In view of the aforesaid, the present writ petition stands disposed of with a direction that in terms of paragraph Nos. 7 and 8 of the communication of the Under Secretary to the Government of India addressed to the Sr. Accounts Officer, Pay and Accounts Office (Pension & Misc)., Ministry of Home Affairs, New Page No.# 4/4 Delhi, a PPO be issued within a period of one month, so that required disbursement can be made to the petitioner. 7. This disposes the writ petition. 8. The copy of the communication issued by the Under Secretary to the Government of India to the Sr. Accounts Officer, Pay and Accounts Office (Pension & Misc)., Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi is kept on record.
