Jyotsna Rewal Dua , J Following order was passed in the matter on 21.07.2025: - CMP No. 25270 of 2024 As prayed for, the application is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. CMP No. 12772 of 2025 2. Respondents are stated to have filed reply. Be placed on record, if in order. However, a copy of the reply was made available for perusal. In terms of the said reply, petitioner’s service as Associate Professor (Community Medicine) (on contract basis) at SLBSGMC&H, Ner Chowk, District Mandi, has been extended till 18.08.2025 vide office order dated 10.06.2025 (Annexure R-1). Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though in terms of the office order dated 10.06.2025, petitioner’s services have been 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 extended for a period of six months, however, the said benefit has been given w.e.f. 14.02.2025. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that there is break in petitioner’s continuation of service w.e.f. 23.12.2024 till 14.02.2025 and because of this break, petitioner would not be in a position to get three year’s teaching experience as Associate Professor. Petitioner’s limited surviving prayer in this writ petition is for direction to the respondents either to count the break period i.e. 23.12.2024 till 14.02.2025 towards petitioner’s service or to let her continue in service for 45 days beyond 18.08.2025 so that petitioner is in a position to have teaching experience for complete three years, which would enable her to look for other available employment opportunities. 4. Prima-facie, petitioner’s prayer appears to be genuine. Let learned Assistant Advocate General to have instructions by the next date of hearing. List on 05.08.2025.” 2. Pursuant thereto, learned Additional Advocate General has placed on record office instructions dated 06.08.2025 from Directorate Medical Education & Research, Himachal Pradesh. Instructions state that:- ‘Government vide letter dated 06.08.2025 has conveyed the approval for extension of contractual period in favour of the petitioner for further two months w.e.f. 18.08.2025 onwards against overall vacancies of faculties at SLBSGMC, Nerchowk, Mandi. The same has been endorsed to the Principal SLBSGMC, Nerchowk Mandi by the present respondent (DME & R, HP) vide endorsement letter dated 06.08.2025’. 3 3.
