Mohan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. D. Nath, learned counsel for the sole respondent. 2. This contempt petition is preferred alleging non-compliance of the direction made in an Page No.# 2/3 Order dated 21.02.2024 passed in a writ petition, W.P.[C.] no. 871/2024. The operative parts of the Order dated 21.02.2024 read as under :- Considering the limited prayer involved, this writ petition is disposed of directing the SLC to consider the case of the petitioner in its next immediate sitting, if not already considered. If the case of the petitioner has already been considered by the SLC, the outcome of such consideration shall be intimated to the petitioner forthwith. With the above observation and directions this writ petition stands disposed of. 3. Mr. Nath, learned counsel for the respondent has submitted that the case of the petitioner was placed before the State Level Committee [SLC] for Appointment on Compassionate Ground on 24.12.2024 and the SLC had considered the case of the petitioner and thereafter, rejected the same. Taking note of the direction made in the Order dated 21.02.2024 and the fact that the SLC has already considered and disposed of the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment on 24.12.2024, no further issue survives in this contempt petition. 4. After consideration of the case of the petitioner by the SLC, a speaking Order dated 02.01.2025 has also been passed by the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs Department. 5. Mr. Mohan, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the decision of the SLC and the Speaking Order passed by the Secretary, Government of Assam have not been communicated to the petitioner and the direction to communicate the Order is a part of the Order dated 24.12.2024. Be that as it may, Mr. Nath, learned counsel for the respondent shall hand over a copy each of the decision taken by the SLC on 24.12.2024 [supra] and the Speaking Order dated 02.01.2024 [supra] during the course of the day. 6. Having regard to the above fact situation, this Court is of the view that nothing further survives for adjudication on the contempt petition. The contempt petition is closed. The Page No.# 3/3 petitioner is at liberty to avail appropriate remedy under the law if he is aggrieved by the decision of the SLC and by the Speaking Order so passed. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
