GP FOR HOME The Court made the following: 3 HN, J W.P.No.15039 of 2025 ORDER: Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home appearing for the respondents. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of respondent No.4 in conducting a proper investigation into the complaint filed by the petitioner. 3. It is submitted that the petitioner is running a day-cum- residential college and has been preventing outsiders from entering the college premises. However, on 13.01.2025 at about 4:30 a.m., it is alleged that a group of individuals broke open the gate locks, entered the premises, and caused damage to the property. A complaint in this regard was filed on 13.01.2025, but FIR No.145 of 2025 was registered only on 17.04.2025. 4. The learned Assistant Government Pleader submits that as per G.O.Ms.No.18 dated 10.12.2024 and Government Memo No.2700647/MC/2025 dated 29.01.2025, playgrounds and open areas in Government Schools, Government Junior Colleges, 4 HN, J W.P.No.15039 of 2025 Government ITIs and Polytechnics, Government Degree Colleges, and Government Universities, excluding Residential Schools and Colleges, may be utilized by the general public as playgrounds between 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. 5. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is running a private institution, and hence, the above G.O. and memo are not applicable. It is further submitted that, despite a proper complaint being lodged and CCTV footage being provided, the police have not conducted any investigation so far. 6. Considering the submissions made by both learned counsel, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the 4th respondent to expedite the investigation, duly taking into account the information furnished by the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible. There shall be no order as to costs.
