The grievance raised in this writ petition filed by way of Public Interest is that the reservation as provided under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 is not being implemented. 2. Counter affidavit has been filed by 6th respondent wherein it is stated that in view of certain shortcomings, a need was felt to promulgate a comprehensive order addressing the shortcomings by the Department of Women, Children, Differently Abled and Senior Citizens and accordingly, comprehensive orders, vide G.O.Ms.No.2, dated 19.02.2020, had been issued for providing 2 HC, J & CGR, J W.P. (PIL) No.8 of 2025 4% reservation in appointment and in promotion in every Government establishment in favour of benchmark disabilities in terms of Section 34 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The categories are duly indicated i.e., open/women/fixing of roster points, order of rotation and ratio for the five categories of the persons with disabilities in terms of Rule 22(e) of Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996. It is further stated in the said affidavit that notification for recruitment of Ward Secretaries had been earlier issued in two phases i.e., 1st notification on 26.07.2019 and 2nd notification on 10.01.2020. G.O.Ms.No.77, dated 02.08.2023 of GAD (SERV.D) Department was issued after completion of the recruitment process, however, it is undertaken that G.O.Ms.No.2 shall be prospectively implemented in future recruitments and promotions in the department. 3. As of now, it is informed by learned counsel for petitioner that no fresh recruitment etc., has been notified. He is unable to deny that as of now there is no justification for continuance of the present proceedings, which are accordingly closed, however, in case of any grievance in respect of implementation of the 3 HC, J & CGR, J W.P. (PIL) No.8 of 2025 reservation in any future recruitment or promotion, the parties in question will be at liberty to raise the issue in accordance with law. 4. Accordingly, this writ petition in the nature of Public Interest Litigation is closed. No costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending in this case, if any, shall stand closed.
