The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner challenging the selection of respondent no. 5 to the post of Gaon Pradhan (Gaonbura) of Dowarpara/Dongpara revenue village. Aggrieved by the selection, the petitioner filed an appeal on 20.05.2023. Since the appeal has not yet been disposed of, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of the present writ petition. Page No.# 3/3 Today when the matter was called up the learned counsel for the respondent submitted that during the pendency of this writ petition, the hearing in the appeal was concluded; however, the appellate authority has not yet passed the final order. This Court therefore directs the appellate authority to pass the order expeditiously, preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order. Let a certified copy of this order be communicated to the appellate authority as well as to the office of the Commissioner and Secretary, Government of Assam, Revenue and Disaster Management, L.R. Department, Dispur, Guwahati-6, for necessary compliance. Needless to say, a copy of any order passed by the appellate authority shall be served on the petitioner. Further, if the grievance of the petitioner still subsists after the disposal of the appeal, the petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court again.
