This Court, vide order dated 13.10.2023 passed in WP(C) 7151/2022 had directed the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Higher Education Department, to consider relaxation of the petitioner’s age in terms of Page No.# 2/2 the Notification dated 03.05.1951. The same not having been done, the petitioner filed the present petition and this Court, vide order dated 20.11.2024, had issued notice. The petitioner was accordingly required to take steps for service of notice on the sole respondent by registered post with A/D within 1 (one) week. However till date, no steps have been taken by the petitioner for service of notice upon the sole respondent. As no one appears for the petitioner and as no steps have been taken even after more than 8 (eight) months have elapsed from the date of issuance of the order dated 20.11.2024, the contempt petition stands closed for non- prosecution.
