SREENIVASA REDDY S±Emj_nat PetE±Eg±LNo.5949 of 2025 The Criminal Petition, under sections 480 & 483 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the Petitioners/A-1 and A-2, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.98 of 2025 of Payakaraopeta police statl'on, Anakapalli District. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioners for the offences punishable under sections 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 r/w 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and psychotropic substances Act, 1985. 3. Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that, on o9IO5.2025 at o9.15 hours, on receiving credible information regarding illegal transportation of ganja, the Inspector of police, payakaraopeta police StatI'On, along with his staff and mediators, proceeded to Thandava Sugar Factory, payakaraopeta village and Mandal and while conducting vehicle checking found Al and A2 in possession of 24 Kgs of ganja transporting the same in Auto bearing No.AP 39 TC 8329. Al and A2 were arrest:ed and got remanded to judicial custody on the even date. The contraband, along with other auto and other material, was seized under the cover of mediators report. 4. Learned c~ounsel for the petitioners submits that the quantity of contraband a-Ilegedly seized from the possession of accused is only 24 Kgs, and the petitioners were remanded to judicial custody on 2lE3F f-- -ri --.? o9.05.2025 and since then they are languI'Shjng jn ja" and entire I-nvestjgation I-s completed. 5. Learned Asslstant publlc Prosecutor submits that major portion of the I'nVeStlgatJOn has been completed except filing of formal charge sheet. 6. Heard. perusedtherecord. 7. A perusal of the materlal on record goes to show that 24 Kgs of ganja was allegedly sefzed from the possession of petltjoners. The petltjOners was arrested and remanded to judJCIal custody on o9.05|2025 and slnce then they are languIShlng fn fall. Since Jt lS subml'tted by the learned Asslstant publlc prosecutor that major portlon of lnvestlgatlon has been completed except flII'ng of formal charge sheet, this court is inclI'ned to release the petjt,'oners on bail. 8. Accordlng'y, the crlm,hal PetltiOn js allowed.
