This is an application under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023, whereby the Page No.# 2/2 petitioner, Nicholas Shangpliang has prayed for releasing him on bail, after he was arrested in connection with Dispur P.S. Case No. 1098/2024 (corresponding to GR Case No.5941/2024). 3. Mr. Gogoi submits that today is the 90th day of detention of the petitioner in custody and the period of detention is also 90 days. 4. Mr. Das has also agreed to that effect. 5. I have considered the submissions made by the learned counsel of both sides. 6. Since the petitioner has completed 90 days of detention in custody and since no charge-sheet has been filed against him till now, the present petitioner is entitled to default bail. 7. Therefore, the bail application of the petitioner is allowed. 8. It is hereby directed that the petitioner, Nicholas Shangpliang shall be released on bail of ₹ 25,000/- with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (Metro), Assam. 9.
