JUSTICE A.GUNESHWAR SHARMA 7.5.2025 O R D E R Present Mr.Dayali Elangbam, learned counsel for the petitioner, Ms.Ch.Sundari, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents and Mr.M.Rarry, learned senior counsel assisted by Ms.Nikita, learned counsel for the private respondents. [2] By the present writ petition, the petitioner, who is one of the founding members of the association, i.e., “Shree Vishnu Durga Au Shiva Teen Panchayan Mandir” approached this court for cancellation of registration of the association on the alleged ground of irregularities. [3] It is stated that vide order dated 16.3.2023 of the Deputy Registrar of Societies, Imphal West directed the members of the “Shree Vishnu Durga Au Shiva Teen Panchayan Mandir” for bringing an amicable solution to the problems otherwise legal proceedings as per rule will be taken up. [4] During the course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner and respondent No.4 have submitted that the parties arrived at an amicable settlement and the writ petition can be disposed of by directing the parties to conduct fresh election under the supervision of the Registrar of Societies Manipur, respondent No.3 herein. [5] Ms.Sundari, learned Government Advocate submits that election may be directed to be conducted as per rule with the understanding between the petitioner and respondent No.4. [6] This court is of the opinion that the writ petition can be disposed without going into the merit of the case by directing the respondent No.3, Registrar of Societies, Manipur to conduct election of office bearers of the “Shree Vishnu Durga Au Shiva Teen Panchayan Mandir” on the basis of the surviving 44 founding members, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. [7] With the observation, the writ petition is disposed of. Furnish a copy of this order to learned counsel for the parties. [8] Registry is directed to send a copy of this order to the Registrar of Societies, Manipur for information and doing the needful as observed above. Misc case also stands disposed of.
