THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE K. SREENIVASA REDDY Criminal Petition No.5894 of 2025 Order: This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of B.N.S.S., has been filed by the petitioners/A4 and A8, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.57 of 2025 of Gajuwaka Police Station, Visakhapatnam Commissionerate. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioners herein and others for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C) r/w 8(c) r/w 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’). 3. Case of the prosecution is that, on 11.02.2025, SI of Police, Gajuwaka Police Station, along with his staff and mediators, proceeded to D.No.24-9-1/3, Behind More Super Market, VUDA Colony, Kanithi Road, Gajuwaka and found A1 to A8 in possession of 184 Kgs of ganja. The accused persons were arrested and sent for judicial remand. The contraband along with other material was seized under the cover of mediators report. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 2 5. The quantity of contraband allegedly seized from the possession of the petitioners herein is 184 Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity. Learned Special Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the investigation is at nascent stage. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. 6. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed. _____________________ K.
