The petitioner has made an allegation in the affidavit that her neighbours have been granted patta in S.No. 173/9, 173/10 and 173/11 and the same had been denied to her. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 3 3. Taking note of the alleged discriminatory practice, I called upon the respondents to file their report. 4. When the matter was called, Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Faizal, learned Additional Government Pleader has produced the report of the fourth respondent/Tahsildar, Salem. On going through the report, it shows that S.No.173/1 is a Government poramboke Forest land, which has not been, subdivided or alienated by the Government. The Tahsildar reports that the private patta land in S.No.173/3 of one, K.Rangaswamy alone, was subdivided on the request of the purchasers of the property from the said K.Rangaswamy in the year 2022. He has given a categorical statement that there is no sub division in S.No. 173/1, 173/4 and 173/5 of the said village. 5. Apart from this, S.No. 173/1 is within 8 kms radius of the Salem City. Under the Revenue Standing Order No. 15, if a Government land falls within 8 kms of a municipal area, it cannot be assigned to private individuals as it might be required for future use by the Government. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 4 6. In the light of the statement of the Tahsildar, I do not find any reason to grant the relief as prayed for in this Writ Petition. 7. Hence, this Writ Petition stands dismissed.
