ORDER (Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) The writ of mandamus has been instituted seeking a direction to dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner on 10.03.2025. 2. Representation would show that adjacent to the petitioner’s land, road encroachments are made. Therefore, petitioner is unable to have free access to his property. Thus, he submitted an application for grant of patta. 3. For this reason, patta cannot be granted in respect of Government porombake land or natham porombake. If at all, obstruction is caused on account of encroachments, the petitioner has to submit a complaint. In the event of filing any such complaint for removal of encroachment, the Tahsildar is bound to initiate appropriate action under the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, and remove the encroachments in Government land.
