This Court, vide order dated 04.10.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5162 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Tunu Gakdi, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Raipur, District-Raipur KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 16.04.2025 has requested for grant of some more time for concluding the trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in this case, after framing of charges, the statements of 6 prosecution witnesses have been recorded. However, since December 26, 2024, the accused has been absent during the prosecution evidence stage. Due to the accused's absence, it seems unlikely that the case can be disposed of within the prescribed time. The case was listed on 01.04.2025, but due to the Presiding OfÏcer's on leave, the application for extension could not be sent and the next date was fixed as April 16, 2025. Therefore, the application for extension is being sent on, April 16, 2025. Hence, conclusion of the trial is likely to take some time. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of five months from today, if there is no legal impediment. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 7.
