Heard Mr. Kh. Arunkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner; Mr. Shyam Sharma, learned GA appearing for respondent Nos. 1, 2 & 3 and Mr. S.Suresh, learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 4. [2] The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for directing the respondents to release the pension and other retiral benefits due payable to the petitioner on his retirement from service with effect from 28-02-2023 on attaining the age of superannuation. [3] Mr. S. Suresh, learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 4 placed before this Court the Pension Payment Order (PPO) and the GPO dated 21-05-2025 issued by the Office of the Accountant General (A & E), Manipur in respect of the petitioner and that the said PPO and GPO has already been furnished to the concerned District Treasury Officer, Thoubal for doing the needful. [4] The learned counsel further submitted that as the PPO and the GPO in respect of the petitioner has already been issued, no cause survives for adjudication in the present writ petition and the present writ petition can be closed as infructuous. [5] Mr. Shyam Sharma, learned GA also submitted that as the petitioner has got the relief as sought for in the present writ petition, the present writ petition may be disposed of as infructuous. [6] Mr. Kh. Arunkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner fairly submitted that the office of the Accountant General (A & E), Manipur has issued the PPO and GPO in respect of the petitioner and that the present writ petition can be disposed of by directing the concerned authorities to release the pensionary and other retiral benefits due payable to the petitioner within a stipulated period. [7] Taking into consideration the submission advanced by the
learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court is of the considered view that it will be in the interest of justice to dispose of the present writ petition by issuing the following directions :- (i) The concerned authorities of the State Government is hereby directed to release the pensionary and other service benefits due payable to the petitioner in terms of the PPO and GPO issued by the Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Manipur as early as possible but not later

than one month from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order. (ii) The petitioner is also directed to report to the District Treasury Officer, Thoubal for extending full cooperation relating to payment of his pensionary and other retiral benefits within a period of one week from today.
With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is
disposed of.
