For Petitioner : Mr.Aditya Varadarajan For Respondent : Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan Additional Public Prosecutor O R D E R The present Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to issue a Non-Traceable Certificate 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.No.1458 of 2025 pertaining to the petitioner’s passbook and signed blank cheques issued by the City Union Bank, Udumalpet Branch, Tiruppur District, based on the petitioner’s complaints dated 11.08.2025 and 25.09.2025. 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that he is holding a savings bank account in the City Union Bank, Udumalpet Branch and that on 08.08.2025, he lost his passbook and signed blank cheques. Therefore, the petitioner preferred complaints before the respondent seeking issuance of a Non-Traceable Certificate. Since no action has been taken on the petitioner’s complaints, the present petition has been filed. 3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police, on instructions, admitted that the petitioner had given the complaints alleging loss of his passbook and signed blank cheques and sought issuance of a Non-Traceable Certificate. He further submitted that as per procedure, the respondent Police are in the practice of issuing Non- Traceable Certificate only in respect of missing documents such as certificates, sale deeds, passports, licenses and other registered documents. 4. In view of the above, the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor are recorded. The respondent Police are directed to send a communication regarding their inability to issue the Non-Traceable Certificate to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.
