GP FOR ENDOWMENTS The Court made the following: ORDER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for: “.... a Writ of Mandamus to declare the delay and inaction on the part of the respondent Nos.1 and 2 in providing necessary police aid to the petitioners preventing the respondent Nos.6 to 8 from causing obstruction to the petitioners at the time of performing archakatwam in the 5th respondent temple as per their term schedule as arbitrary, illegal and violation of Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to provide necessary police aid to the petitioners while the petitioners are performing archakatwam in the 5th respondent temple as per their term schedule in the interest of justice.” 2. Sri P.Nagendra Reddy, learned counsel for the Petitioners would submit that, Archakatvam of the Petitioners in the subject temple is on turn basis and Respondent Nos.6 to 8 are behaving highhandedly and causing obstruction while the Petitioners are performing their Archakatvam and the same was admitted by the Executive Officer of the subject temple vide Letter dated 14.12.2023 addressed to the Regional Joint Commissioner, Endowments Department, Multi Zone-II, Tirupati. Learned counsel would further submit that, Police may be directed to provide protection to them. 3 3. Sri Md.Farooq, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, would submit that on receipt of the representation dated 07.05.2025 from the Petitioners, the Police advised the Petitioners to approach the Endowments Department for protection. Since it is a civil matter, the Police have not interfered in the matter. 4. Considering the submissions made, the Writ Petition is disposed of. However, in the light of the Letter dated 14.12.2023 addressed by the Executive Officer of the subject temple to the Regional Joint Commissioner, Endowments Department, the Police are directed to look into the representation of the Petitioners and take appropriate steps according to the governing rules and law. There shall be no order as to costs.
