Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State-opposite parties and perused the record. 2. This petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following main prayer:- "1.Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the opposite party no.2 to consider and decide application for grant of character certificate made on 16.05.2025 and to issue character certificate to petitioner expeditiously, as in absence of character certificate, he is unable to obtain any tender despite of his solvency." 3. It has been submitted by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner that the prayer of the petitioner for issuance of Character Certificate is not being considered though the Police has submitted its recommendation letter on 16.06.2025. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that a total five criminal cases have been filed against the petitioner. In two cases, the petitioner has been acquitted; in two cases, final reports have been filed in favour of the petitioner; and in the remaining one case no evidence was found against the petitioner as such his name has been deleted. 5. In view of the above, we dispose of this petition with a direction to the District Magistrate, Sultanpur, opposite party no.2 to issue character certificate to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date a Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : D.P.
