The endorsement depicts that O.S.No.262/2024 is pending adjudication and therefore, the petitioner should get a clear order from the hands of the concerned Court for Police protection to be granted. - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:9718 WP No. 6576 of 2025 4. Learned counsel Sri H. Pavana Chandra Shetty takes this Court through the compromise decree which closes O.S.No.262/2024. This is passed on 28.03.2024. Therefore, the indication of pendency of the civil case in O.S.No.262/2024 is an erroneous presumption on the part of the State. A jatra is said to be conducted between 24.03.2025 and 26.03.2025. 5. Learned High Court Government Pleader seeks to project certain criminal cases registered against the stake holders of this jatra and those matters are said to be stayed at the hands of the co-ordinate bench in different criminal petitions. Be that as it is. 6. The performance of jatra in a Temple would entail certain consequences, if Police protection is not granted for maintenance of public order and peace, during the conduct of jatra. It is necessary for the State to accord such Police protection for the conduct of jatra between the period 24.03.2025 and 26.03.2025. 7. As submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, for conduct of jatra, several rounds of preparation would go on ten days prior to the aforesaid dates. Therefore, - 5 - NC: 2025:KHC:9718 WP No. 6576 of 2025 the District Administration shall over-see that from 14.03.2025 to 26.03.2025, no untoward incident would happen and the jatra or the annual mahotsava at the Temple would go on in a peaceful manner.
