Her husband Krishnan, was a government servant who served for 35 years in the Dharmapuri Municipality. Unfortunately, hedied due to a brain stroke in August 2019. During his life time, he opened an account in the respondent banks and pledged some jewels for agricultural purpose. After his demise, the petitioner received auction notices from the respondent banks regarding the jewel loan. Having no other sources of income, she borrowed money from a private financier at a higher rate of interest and repaid the loan amount. Thereafter, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent Banks in 2020 to release the jewels and the threshold amount in the savings account to her. But, there is no response from the respondent banks till date. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time. 3 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 36959 of 2024 4.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.07.2024 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, 5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
