The learned Standing Counsel, ASAMB has placed before the Court an extract of the minutes of the Cabinet Meeting held on 10.07.2024 in respect of the approval of the proposal for VRS Scheme for regular employees and one time settlement/gratuity payment to contingency menial of ASAMB and re-deployment (of those do not opt for VRS) in the AFCSCL and Directorate of Agriculture, Assam. It is submitted that the petitioner opted for VRS Scheme and accordingly the VRS has been made affected from September, 2024. As such the writ petition as well as the interlocutory application have become infructuous. In view of the submissions made by the learned Standing counsel and upon perusal of the extract of the approval of the Cabinet decision placed before the Court as well as the pleadings available on record, the Court upon recording the submissions of the learned Standing Counsel ASAMB is Page No.# 4/4 of the view that the writ petition has become infructuous and therefore the matter should be closed.
