For Petitioner : Mr.J.Jawahar For R1 to R5 : Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh Standing Counsel O R D E R Challenging the order of the 4th respondent, dated 13.11.2025, directing the petitioner to obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned authorities for effecting electricity service connection, the present writ petition has been filed. 2.According to the petitioner, he is in possession of Government poramboke land and constructed a house therein. The Tahsildar has also issued Residence Certificate in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner applied for domestic electricity service connection to his house. Though the petitioner is ready to execute an Indemnity Bond for effecting electricity service connection, the impugned order came to be passed directing the petitioner to obtain NOC from the concerned authorities. Therefore, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.48314 of 2025 challenging the same, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 5, on instructions, would submit that, if the land in possession of the petitioner comes under non-objectionable poramboke land, they will effect electricity service connection by receiving Indemnity Bond from the petitioner. However, if the land comes under the objectionable poramboke land, the petitioner has to get NOC from the concerned Tahsildar and only thereafter, they will effect electricity service connection. 4.In such view of the matter, let the petitioner first find out and show whether the land in his possession falls under objectionable poramboke or non-objectionable poramboke category. Thereafter, if it is non- objectionable poramboke, let the respondents effect electricity service connection immediately after obtaining an Indemnity Bond from the petitioner and collecting necessary charges. If the land falls under objectionable poramboke, the petitioner shall produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned authorities, particularly, the Tahsildar, and on production of such certificate, the respondents shall effect electricity service connection to the petitioner after collecting necessary charges.
