JUSTICE SHIVASHANKAR AMARANNAVAR ORAL ORDER Learned counsel for the petitioner and son of the petitioner are present. 2. The respondent and her counsel are present. 3. Joint memo has been filed and it is signed by learned counsel for the petitioner, respondent and learned counsel for the respondent. Learned counsel for the respondent submits that the matter is settled between for parties for Rs.3,46,000/- (rupees Three Lakhs Forty Six Thousand only). Out of the said amount, a sum of Rs.1,78,000/- (rupees One Lakh Seventy Eight Thousand only) has been deposited by the petitioner before the trial Court. He further submits that the respondent has received amount of Rs.1,68,000/- (rupees One lakh Sixty - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:23423 CRL.RP No. 622 of 2021 Eight Thousand only) by way of cash from the son of the petitioner. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that amount deposited by the petitioner before the trial Court in sum of Rs.1,78,000/- (rupees One Lakh Seventy Eight Thousand only) has already been withdrawn by the respondent –complainant. 5. In view of settlement, the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 is compounded.
