ORDER 24-09-2025 Heard Mr. A. K. Azad, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. K. Baishya, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, for the State respondent.
2. This is an application under Section 483 BNSS, 2023 praying for grant of bail to the accused/petitioner, namely, Jharna Singha @ Sopi who was
Page No.# 2/2 arrested in connection with Nalbari P.S. Case No. 319/2025 under Sections 87/143(2)/144(2) BNS read with Sections 5/6 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956.
3. During the deliberation of the matter, Mr. Baishya, learned Addl. PP submitted that police after completion of investigation submitted the charge sheet in the case vide Charge Sheet No. 251/2025 dated 22.09.2025.
4. Mr. Azad, learned counsel submitted that the petitioner is in custody for the last 82 days and considering his length of detention, he may be released on bail.
5. As the charge sheet in the case has already been submitted, I do not find it justified to pass any order on bail, at this stage.
6. In view of the above, the petitioner is hereby directed to approach the learned Trial Court below and to file regular application for bail, which may be considered in accordance with law.
7. Accordingly, this bail application stands disposed of.
8. The report submitted by the S.I. of Nalbari Police Station dated 22.09.2025 be kept as part of the record.
