THE HONOURABLE SMT JUSTICE V.SUJATHA WRIT PETITION NO: 703 of 2026 ORDER:-
This Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the Respondent No.2 in issuing the impugned order vide Proceedings No. SKU/T.Estt.Principal- SKUCET/EE-III/2025, dated 20.12.2025 extending the services of the Petitioner with effect from 21.12.2025 as Principal, S.K.U College of Engineering and Technology, S.K.University, Ananthapuramu as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The precise case of the Petitioner is that pursuant to the Notification dated 05.04.2018 issued by the Respondent No.2, he applied and was appointed as Principal on Adhoc basis for a period of one year, to that effect the Respondent No.2 issued orders dated 30.04.2018, since then he has been working as Principal diligently without any remark.
The services of the Petitioner has been extended from time to time and the Respondent No.2 extended the contract till 20.12.2025 vide proceedings dated 10.12.2024. Subsequently his services was not regularized. Hence, the Petitioner has preferred W.P.No.31140 of 2025 seeking regularization of his services. Pending said Writ Petition, the Vice-Chancellor, vide proceedings dated 20.12.2025 has extended the services of the Petitioner with effect from 21.12.2025 as Principal of S.K.U.College of Engineering and Technology on contract basis until further orders with consolidated pay of Rs. 1,50,000/- per
month. The Petitioner has filed the said proceedings as a material paper in the present Writ Petition. 3. As the Petitioner’s services has been extended with effect from 21.12.2025 for a further period of one year, vide proceedings, dated 20.12.2025, this Court is of the opinion that the Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition with a presumption that his services may be terminated at any point of time. However, as the Respondents have already extended the contract period to the Petitioner, this court is of the opinion that no further cause survives in this Writ Petition and the Writ Petition is pre-matured. 4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. However, the Petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court, if he is terminated in future by the Respondents. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed. ___________________ JUSTICE V.SUJATHA Date: 07.05.2026
