Mr. Balram Sharma, Deputy Solicitor General of India with Mr. Rajeev Sharma, Advocate, for the respondents. OMP No.996 of 2025. This application has been filed under Section 29 (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the arbitral proceedings of the sole Arbitrator namely Hon’ble Mr. Justice Swatanter Kumar (Retired) for a further period of six months. On earlier occasion, the second extension was granted on 11.04.2025 for three months. Counsel for the respondents-Union of India has also placed on record communication dated 18.07.2025 submitting that they have no objection for extension of mandate of the sole Arbitrator, as the case is now listed for further arguments on 31.07.2025. Accordingly, the application is partly allowed to the extent that a period of another three months is granted to the learned Arbitrator to complete the proceedings.
