Heard Sri Arun Yadav, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri Prem Narayan Rai, learned panel counsel appearing for respondents no. 1 and 2. 2. In this petition, petitioner has prayed for a direction to the Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow to decide his passport application moved on 28.6.2024. 3. Per contra Sri Prem Narayan Rai has obtained instructions in the matter, which are taken on record. From the instructions it transpires that petitioner himself applied for closure of his application on the ground that a criminal case is pending against him. 4. In the circumstances, no direction as such can now be issued for reopening the passport application, which has already been closed on the request of the petitioner himself. However, petitioner is always at liberty to move a fresh application for grant of passport. 5. Subject to aforesaid liberty, this petition is consigned to records.
