Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record. 3. The petitioner had worked in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and retired from service on 31.05.2017. On the date of retirement, he was working as a Special Grade Driver in the respondent Corporation. However, he was not paid the encashment for 16 days of Earned Leave surrendered prior to his retirement. Though the petitioner made several representations, the same was not considered till date. 4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent is directed to disburse the Earned Leave encashment amount for 16 days surrendered by the petitioner before his retirement, along with applicable interest, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
