Sandhawalia, Chief Justice (Oral) An application has been filed under Section 29- A(4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time of the mandate of the sole Arbitrator. 1 Whether the reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2. Notice. Ms. Srishti Verma, Advocate, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondent. 3. A perusal of the record would go on to show that vide order dated 22.09.2023 while disposing of two applications, Justice V. Ramasubramanian, former Judge Supreme Court of India was appointed as an Arbitrator. 4. A perusal of the application would further go on to show that the Arbitration proceedings are at the stage of final arguments. Counsel for the respondent-Corporation also does not dispute this fact. 5. Keeping in view the above, since the parties have opted for the mode of resolving the dispute by way of reference to an Arbitrator, this Court is of the considered opinion that by not allowing the application, the whole purpose of resolving the issue would be frustrated. 6. Accordingly, the application is allowed and disposed of, and the the time of mandate of the sole arbitrator is extended till 31.12.2025. August 01 , 2025 ( G.S. Sandhawalia ) (ankit) Chief Justice
