For Petitioner : Ms.R.Kalaiyarasi For Respondents : Mr.P.Ganesan Government Advocate COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed for direction directing the third respondent to issue patta under free patta scheme in respect of the land comprised in S.Nos.6 and 7, situated at Beemananthal Village, Pachal Post, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Nos.6694, 6696 and 6699 of 2024 Chengam Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District which are classified as Government Poramboke land. 2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. 3. A perusal of the counter filed by the respondents and on the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents revealed that the property comprised in S.No.6, to an extent of 2.36.5 hectares is classified as “Kallankuthu” Government poramboke and it is vested with the local village panchayat. Likewise, the land comprised in S.No.7 to an extent of 5.10.5 hectares is also classified as “Kallankuthu” Government poramboke and the same is also vested with the local village panchayat. 4. On physical inspection, it was found that the subject land is essential for implementing a plantation initiative. This initiative aims to plant 5000 saplings of various trees, including Guava, Neem, Tamarind and Teak under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. Hence, the request made by the petitioners cannot be considered and the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, these writ petitions are dismissed.
