Sudeepthi Potiuri, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Mines and Geology appearing for the respondents. 2. The instant writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner’s application in Bid No.838870-0, dated 12.03.2024 for Quartz mining lease. 2 It is contended that pursuant to the tender notification calling for 3. bids for Quartz mining in respect of the subject land in an extent of 4.535 hectares; the petitioner filed an application on 12.03.2024. It is contended that the application has not yet been processed. However, vide notification dated 20.02.2025, Quartz has now been classified as a major mineral under the Mines and Minerals (Development &Regulation) Act, 1957. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that so far, neither respondent No.1 nor respondent No.2 has taken any action to process the petitioner's application. 4. Having regard to the submissions made, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the application of the petitioner, dated 12.03.2024 within eight (08) weeks from the date of receipt of this order. Needless to observe that the petitioner shall be given an opportunity of hearing. 5. 6. With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
