2025:JHHC:21286 1 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI Cr. Rev No. 681 of 2025 ------ Abhishek Kumar, aged about 42 years, son of Arbind Kumar, resident of 10/3, N.S. Road, Rajat Flora, P.O. & P.S. Narendrapur, Distt. Kolkata-700103. … … Petitioner Versus 1. The State of Jharkhand 2. Pooja Kumari, D/o Sukhdeo Prasad Sao, aged about 39 years, resident of Chandnichowk, Dal Mill Rajdhanwar, P.O. & P.S. Dhanwar, Dist. Giridih (Jharkhand). … … Respondents ------ CORAM: SRI ANANDA SEN, J. ------ For the Petitioner : Mrs. Aprajita Mishra, Advocate For the State : Mr. Arup Kr. Dey, A. P.P. ----- 02/ 31.07.2025 1. By invoking in criminal jurisdiction of this Court, the petitioner has challenged the order dated 05.04.2025, passed in Original Maintenance Case No. 410 of 2022, whereby interim maintenance has been fixed to the tune of Rs. 15000/- per month in favour of the wife. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the quantum is on the much higher side as the petitioner has the liability to maintain his aged parents. He submits that the child is also residing with the petitioner, thus the amount of Rs. 15,000/- is exorbitant. 4. On query it has been submitted that the salary of this petitioner is Rs. 1,60,000/-. The Court has directed the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs. 15,000/- by way of interim measure. The amount cannot be said to be exorbitant even considering the fact that 2025:JHHC:21286 2 the petitioner has to maintain his parents and the son. Moreover, since this is an interim order, I am not inclined to interfere with the order impugned. 5. The Additional Principal Judge, Additional Family Court, Giridih is directed to conclude the maintenance proceeding as early as possible without giving unnecessary adjournment to the parties. 6. With the aforesaid observation, this Cr. Revision is dismissed. (ANANDA SEN, J.) Rashmi/
