The Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board proposed to construct multiple floor residential houses at Re-Survey Nos.18/1 and 18/2 in Punjai Lakkapuram Village, Modakurichi Circle, Modakurichi Taluk, Erode District. 3. The claim of the petitioner is that the said lands were devolved by ryotwari system and most of the villagers in the said village are agriculturists. The said land consists of threshing floor and parai poramboke where the villagers used Re-Survey No.18/1 as threshing floor to thresh the cereals and other agricultural products and Re-Survey No.18/2 as parai poramboke for ingress and egress. While so, the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board has proposed to construct multi floor residential houses.
