This is an application under Section 483 BNSS, 2023 praying Page No.# 2/3 for grant of bail to the accused/petitioner Surajit Roy @ Surajit Ray in connection with Silchar PS Case No. 868/2025 under Section 303(2)/317(2)/318(4)/325 of the BNS, 2023. R/W Section 13(1) of the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021. 3. The allegations against the petitioner is that he was apprehended on 29.08.2025 while he was transporting beef in his vehicle. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he had no information that the goods that he was transporting was beef as he was under the bonfide impression that he was transporting chicken. 4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the veterinary officers have examined the sample and are tentatively of the opinion that the seized article is buffalo meat. 5. Having regard to the above facts as well the period of detention for 27 days and the nature of allegations, the prayer for bail, in respect of the petitioner, is allowed. 6. The petitioner Surajit Roy @ Surajit Ray is allowed to go on bail on furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- with 2(two) sureties of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Ld. C.J.M, Silchar under the following conditions : (i) The petitioner shall cooperate with the investigation and appear before the I/O as and when called for. (ii) The petitioner shall not tamper with the evidence or influence the witnesses connected with the case.
