The petitioner was appointed as Naib Kazi in the year 2006 and according to him he continued till 2020. It is the case of the petitioner that on the death of his father Tafazul Ali Laskar, a Muslim Marriage Registrar and Kazi of Hailakandi, a recruitment process was initiated, in which the petitioner also participated. The grievance raised in the present writ petition is that such selection process has not been finalized till date. 3. Mr. S Dutta, learned state counsel submits that in view of repeal of the Assam Muslim Marriage and Divorces Registration Act, 1935, at present, there is no question of any selection and appointment of Kazi. It is further submitted by Mr. Dutta that such repealing Act is under challenge and is pending adjudication before the Division Bench. 4. Be that as it may, as none appears for the petitioner on call, the writ petition stands dismissed for non prosecution. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
