ORAL ORDER The petitioner has sought for a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider his representation dated 01.02.2020 for payment of the retirement benefits.
2. During the pendency of this writ petition, it is stated that the retirement benefits were ordered to be paid in terms of an order dated 09.03.2021, which is not disputed by the
learned counsel for the petitioner. Therefore, the reliefs sought for in this writ petition does not survive for consideration.
3. However, it is seen that the petitioner retired from service on 30.11.2019 and therefore, the payment of his retirement benefits by order dated 09.03.2021, seems belated. Therefore, the respondent shall consider the case of the petitioner for grant of interest at 9% per annum for the delayed payment of the retirement benefits. This shall be complied within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
