1. The prayer in the present appeal is to set aside the judgment of conviction and order on quantum of sentence dated 16.01.2009 passed by learned Judge, Special Court, Sangrur, whereby the appellant was convicted under Section 22 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (hereinafter to be referred as ‘NDPS Act’) and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months with fine of Rs. 2,000/- and default mechanism in the case stemming from FIR No. 66 dated 30.07.2004 registered at Police Station Longowal.

Learned counsel for the appellant, at the very outset submits that appellant has died on 11.03.2025.
3. In view of the above, proceedings against the appellant in the present appeal stands abated.
