This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner has made following main prayer(s): "A) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow to process and issue the passport bearing File No. LK3075688792625 for the full period prescribed under Rule 12, Passport Rules, 1980." 3. In the present case, it is clear from the facts that only a first information report has been filed against the petitioner and till date there is no charge sheet that has been filed against the petitioner. 4. In light of the same, we direct the Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow to process the application of the petitioner bearing File No.LK3075688792625 and issue passport to the petitioner in accordance with law after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from date.
