[2] Heard Mr. Ajmal Hussain, learned counsel along with Ms. Roja Shahni, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. H. Debendra, learned Dy. A.G. assisted by Ms. Sharmila, learned counsel for the State respondent. [3] The petitioners approached this Court apprehending eviction in terms of appeal dated 20.07.2025 issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East informing on encroachment upon Government land to remove the encroached structure. [4] It is stated that the petitioners’ father is the pattadar for a land having an area of 0.60 acre under Dag No. 73/349 situated at village No. 109-Changamdabi, Imphal East. [5] It is submitted that as passed in similar case, the possession of the petitioners over the patta land may be protected from eviction. [6] Mr. H. Debendra, learned Dy. A.G., submits that no one is evicted from their possession and no structure is demolished in the present mass drive for eviction from encroachment upon Government land. [7] In the circumstances, the possession and structure of the petitioners within the patta land are protected and any encroachment upon the Government land may be evicted in due process. [8] With this observation, writ petition is disposed of. Misc. application is closed. [9] Furnish a copy of this order to the learned counsel appearing for the parties during the course of the day.
