Through instant petition very innocuous prayer has been made on behalf of the petitioner to issue direction to the respondent to consider and decide his pending representations dated 20.01.2025 & 06.05.2025 (Annexures P-8 & P-9), whereby repeatedly requests are being made at the behest of the petitioner to convene the meeting of DPC for promotion to the post of Section Officer.

While putting in appearance on behalf of the respondent- University, Ms. Archana Dutta, learned counsel, states that representations, if not already decided, shall be decided expeditiously, in accordance with law.

Having carefully perused the averments contained in the petition, which is duly supported by an affidavit as well as documents annexed therewith, this Court finds that one post of Section Officer is

lying vacant from 1st May, 2025 and at present petitioner herein is holding the charge of the same, but he is not being regularly promoted on account of non-convening of DPC and as such, has approached this Court, seeking therein direction to the competent authority to convene the meeting of DPC at the earliest.

Taking note of aforesaid genuine grievance of the petitioner, coupled with the fair statement made by learned counsel for the respondent-University, this Court without going into the merits of the case, deems it fit to dispose of the same with a direction to the respondent/ competent authority to decide the pending representations dated 20.01.2025 & 06.05.2025 (Annexures P-8 & P- 9) of the petitioner expeditiously, preferably within a period of ten days and in case, same are accepted, DPC in any eventuality shall be conducted expeditiously within a period of one month. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of. p
