Khare, the learned Standing Counsel for the State of U.P.. 2. By means of the instant petition, the petitioner has sought writ of mandamus directing the respondents/opposite parties to reserve the post of Gram Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Marauthi, Block Kaiserganj, District Bahraich for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes, in the upcoming panchayat elections scheduled to be held in the year 2026 but the learned counsel for the petitioner has confined his submission to prayer no.2, which is for disposal of the petitioner's representation dated 08.10.2025. 3. Although, Sri S.K.Khare, learned Standing Counsel for the State of U.P. has opposed the application on the basis of written instructions provided to him denying the petitioner's claim, he does not dispute the fact that the petitioner's representation is still pending consideration and, it should be decided by the concerned authority. 4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed off by issuing a direction to the respondent No.3- District Magistrate/Collector, District Bahraich to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 08.10.2025 (a copy whereof has been annexed as Annexure No.2 to the writ petition) and to communicate the same to the petitioner expeditiously in accordance with law.
