HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD LUCKNOW WRIT - C No. - 10930 of 2025 Court No. - 3 HON'BLE SHEKHAR B. SARAF, J. HON'BLE MANJIVE SHUKLA, J. 1. We have heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties 2. The Regional Passport Authority has submitted that he has received information from the police authorities that a case under Sections 323, 324 & 506 of I.P.C. is pending against the petitioner. However, it is to be noted that the proceedings that started in the year 1990 have not culminated into any kind of conviction till date. 3. In light of the same, we are of the view that the pendency of this case should not act as a bar against the petitioner for renewal of a passport. 4. In view of above, the Regional Passport Officer, Lucknow is directed to renew the passport of the petitioner upon compliance of the order within a period of three weeks from today. The petitioner is permitted to make a fresh application to the authority concerned within a week from today. In case any such application is filed, the authority concerned is directed to pass a reasoned order on the same. 5. In light of the same, the writ petition is disposed of.
