JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR MEDHI ORDER 24.10.2025 Heard Shri IH Saikia, learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Ms. M. Barman, learned State Counsel and Ms. G. Hazarika, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue Department. The approach to this Court in its jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is with regard to the aspect of inter religion land transfer. As per the facts projected, the petitioners are the owner as well as the prospective buyer, who had applied for a transfer of a plot of land of 1 Bigha. However, due to certain alleged mismatch in the documents, the petitioners were directed to rectify the same. Thereafter, vide an order dated 26.05.2025, a Nodal Officer has been appointed to look into the matters of inter religion land transfer. Page No.# 3/3 It however transpires that subsequently, a notification dated 09.09.2025 has been issued whereby fresh guidelines have been laid down. Shri Saikia, learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that in view of the aforesaid development, he would like to withdraw the present challenge with a liberty to make a fresh challenge to the fresh notification.
