Contempt Petition has been instituted to punish the respondents for their wilful disobedience of order of this Court dated 03.07.2024 in W.P.No.15359 of 2025. 2. This Court directed the respondents to look into the representation submitted by writ petitioner for removal of encroachments. The Commissioner Namakkal Corporation addressed a letter to the Standing Counsel for Corporation vide letter dated 04.11.2025 stating that out of 12 encroachments, 11 encroachments have already been removed. Regarding one encroachment, writ petition has been filed in W.P.No.38176 of 2025 and an interim order is in force. In yet another encroachment, patta has been granted. 3. The Commissioner, Namakkal Corporation is directed to initiate all appropriate actions to defend writ petition to cancel the patta in respect of https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Cont. P. No.3234 of 2025 other encroachment and it is made clear that all encroachments in the waterbody are to be removed without unnecessary delay.
