I humbly submit that the proposal seeking sanction of funds is now under consideration before the Government. Since the compensation amount is Rs.7,26,53,462/-, the same has to go through additional level of scrutiny and the relevant files are under circulation seeking concurrence at the highest level. Nos.2926 of 2025 and etc., cases __________ Resources Department, Secretariat, Chennai-9, has stated that the proposal for compensation to be paid in this regard, as per the orders of this Hon'ble Court in the appeal cases as well as contempt cases, is under consideration of the Government, vide the Secretary to Government, Chennai Letter No.5742/K2/2025-2, dated 17.02.2026. Furthermore, I humbly submit that at present the files are in the final stage of approval and once the concurrence is granted the compensation would be disbursed as expeditiously possible and it is expected that the funds would be received from the Government at the earliest and soon the compensation along with other benefits would be settled to the Petitioners herein in compliance with the order of this Hon'ble Court." 2. Considering the amount that is involved, this Court is inclined to grant some more time. 3. In respect of Contempt Petition No.3839 of 2025, the learned Additional Advocate General submitted that a writ appeal was filed along with condone delay petition. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that all the other writ appeals have already been dismissed by the Division Bench. 4.
