By way of this petition, the petitioner has prayed for following reliefs:- 2 “10.1 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to call for the entire records pertaining to the case of petitioners. 10.2 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to release the remaining G.P.F. amount of Rs. 3,31,222/- with bank interest. 10.3 That, Hon'ble Court may kindly further be pleased to pass appropriate order in the circumstances of the case in the interest of justice. 10.4 Cost of the petition may also be granted.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was appointed to the post of Sub-Inspector in the respondent department and has discharged its duties with utmost dedication. After reaching the stage of superannuation the petitioner retired from service and as per the GPF account statement issued by the respondent No. 3 the amount showcasing in the GPF account of the petitioner is Rs. 6,55,189-, however, the amount released in favor of the petitioner was Rs. 3,23,967/-, thus an amount of Rs.3,31,222/ has been withheld by the respondents without affording any reason. Against such action of the respondent No. 3, the petitioner preferred representations before the respondent No. 3 but till date no action has been taken by the respondent No. 3. 3. Learned Counsel for respondent submits that there is already a High Powered Committee constituted by the State Government for redressal of such grievances where a dispute in-respect-of the GPF amount and retiral dues is concerned. 3 4. Given the said nature of dispute, this Court is of the opinion that it is a fit case where the matter of the petitioner can be placed before the High Power Committee constituted by the State Government for redressal of dispute so far as the pension and the retiral dues are concerned. 5. It is directed that let the High Power Committee consider the case of the petitioner and in the course of consideration they shall call upon the original GPF passbook maintained with the employer, so also the GPF passbook maintained in the office of the Accountant General and the record which is available with the petitioner and shall scrutinize the entire service record to ascertain the actual amount of GPF payable on the date of retirement to the petitioner. 6. Let this exercise be done by the High Power Committee within a period of 3 months from the date certified copy of this order is placed before the Committee. The Committee is also directed to ensure that while scrutinizing the documents, the petitioner also shall also be given an opportunity to submit his contentions along with the relevant records, if any. 7.
