No.493/ 2022 dt.02.09.2022 and quash the same as arbitrary and illegal, and consequently direct the Respondents to effect reduction of demand from 4000 KVA to 200 KVA as per the Petitioner’s application dated 05.05.2022. For Petitioner : Mr.Rahul Balaji For Respondents : Mr.S.Madhusudhanan ORDER This writ petition has been filed to quash the recordings of the 2nd Respondent in impugned order dated 02.09.2022 and consequently direct the Respondents to effect reduction of demand from 4000 KVA to 200 KVA as per the petitioner’s application dated 05.05.2022. 2. Today when the matter was taken up, the learned counsel appearing for Respondents 1 and 2, adverting to the counter affidavit, submitted that reduction has already been effected. The relevant paragraphs in the counter affidvit are Paragraphs 16 and 17 and the same 2 / 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP.No.26215 of 2022 read as follows: “16. I further submit that the petitioner has been informed to register the online application vide demand notice issued on 30.06.2025 and the application has been registered. I further submit that the proposal has been called for from the Executive Engineer/Distribution/Paramakudi dated 06.07.2022 and administrative approval has been accorded to effect the reduction of load to the petitioner ahs been approved on 01.09.2022. The technical sanction has been accorded on 15.11.2022 by CE/Distribution/Madurai. 17. I further submit that the demand notice has been issued to the petitioner to pay the estimate charges on 18.11.2022 and the above charges has been paid on 21.11.2022. The clearance has been issued to Executive Engineer/Distribution/Paramakudi to effect the reduction of demand of 3800 KVA from the existing demand of 4000 KVA to retain 200 KVA on 11KV volatage level and the load reduction request of the petitioner has been effected on 21.12.2022” 3. Mr.Rahul Balaji, learned counsel for the petitioner also confirms that the reduction has been effected. 4.
