Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has, inter alia, prayed for the following reliefs:- “i) That the respondents may be directed to make admission to the Nursing Courses (B.Sc. M.Sc. And Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing) gender neutral and the practice to restrict admission to females only may kindly 1Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2025:HHC:20694 be quashed and set aside. ii) That the time period allotted for admission to the Nursing Courses by the respondent No.3 of seven days only, may kindly be suitably increased to invite better talent for admission to the Nursing Course.” 2. When this case was listed on 27.06.2025, the following order was passed:- “By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has challenged the act of the respondents of offering admission to the four years B.Sc Nursing Degree Course to female candidates only. According to the petitioner, he also intends to undergo B.Sc Nursing Degree Course but as the same stands restricted for female candidates only, he has been barred from participating in the process. A perusal of the prospectus demonstrates that the process under challenge is over, as the entrance test was scheduled for 11.06.2025 and the petitioner has not approached the Court in time. Faced with this issue, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that the case be taken up next week. List on 01.07.2025, as prayed for.” 3 2025:HHC:20694 3. Today on the request of learned counsel for the petitioner, the petition is allowed to be withdrawn, but keeping the issue raised in the petition open, so that in case, in future such a situation arises again, the disposal of this petition should not be act as estopple.
