Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Judge The gist of petitioner’s grievance was noticed as under in the order passed on 10.07.2025:-
“Notice. Mr. Shivank Singh Panta, Advocate, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents. Petitioner’s grievance is that out of total amount of Rs.25,55,872/-, which was due to be paid to him in the year 2019, only three installments of Rs.5,11,000/- each have been released to the petitioner and amount of Rs.10,22,000/- still remains to be paid to him. Petitioner is aged 82 years and still waiting for his due benefits. Let learned counsel for the respondents take instructions regarding the release of the remaining liability towards the petitioner. In case the petitioner is found entitled to the aforesaid amount, the same be remitted to him before the next date of hearing. List on 05.08.2025.”

Learned counsel for the respondent has placed on record office communication dated 02.08.2025 and on that

basis submits that all retiral benefits have now been released in favour of the petitioner save & except the interest liability on account of late payment of retiral dues. Learned counsel for the respondents further submits that earnest efforts shall be made by the respondents to clear the interest liability towards the petitioner within six weeks.

Taking note of the above, this writ petition is
disposed of by directing the respondents to release the interest liability towards the petitioner on account of delayed payment of retiral benefits within a period of six weeks from today, i.e. by 18.09.2025, in accordance with law. If the amount due is not paid within the aforesaid period, the same shall carry interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the due date till actual payment.
The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any.
